I'll be incommunicado for perhaps the next ten days, starting tomorrow afternoon. By now, I've reformatted the computer twice and lost count as to how often I reinstalled first XP, then ME. Whatever. The DVD drive wasn't able to work with the installation CD the last time, so I called the support people again yesterday. This time, they seemed to be out of their depths, too. So they told me they'd take my computer for a longer period of testing, ranging from five to ten days. They'll fetch it tomorrow at 16:45. <sigh>
I still praise myself for the stroke of genius (says she <g>) that made me buy the computer with two 40 GB harddrives. If I hadn't, I would have to say goodbye to all my data since I most likely will get my computer with it all wiped clean. Still means I'll have to transfer all relevant data to D:\ tomorrow. Everything I forget -- will go 'poof'.
I'll try to read my mail whenever possible (both
xkatjafx and mamoru have offered to let me use their computer to help me out, thanks, girls!), so I might be able to answer anything urgent. Like the Escapade thing, perhaps.
My throat's scratchy. I DON'T NEED A COLD!!!!
xkatjafx has lent me a lot of zines to help me through the computer- (and therefore slashless) time.
I'll try to catch up on my wanted-to-watch-but-never-found-the-time-for series; there are still so many VCDs and tapes lying around here... I guess I'll survive the ten days. Surely not happily, but I will
