What I'd really like to do right now is read some Patrick Jane/Wayne Rigsby slash. Yes, you've heard right. That pairing there are less than half a dozen stories to be found for on the 'net. Again I've picked a pairing that's... well, pretty much nonexistent (I don't count the aforementioned stories which are all set so early in the show that the characterizations are simply unsatisfying).

I don't even know for certain why I'd like to read fic about it. Well, yes, I've finally caught up on my The Mentalist episodes, and currently the Rigsby-van Pelt pairing is split up, and I don't know... I like Rigsby, and I find him more interesting than Cho. Not that I don't like Cho (and that wonderful deadpan way of his), but pairing him with Jane has always sent me right off to sleep. For me, that certain zing is just not there. No conflict (Cho's too easygoing for that), no thrill, no adventure.

Anyway, Jane/Rigsby. I'd like something longer than a thousand words, something set in season 3 of the show. Something with Jane finally taking off his wedding ring and letting someone in, something with Rigsby getting over van Pelt, letting go of that macho attitude of his by admitting he's attracted to a man. His character's been so little explored on the show that I want all that potential to be put to good use, dammit.

... Oh well, perhaps I do know why I'd like to read fic about that pairing. :::sigh:::

Heck, I'd settle for something gen or even slash of the Jane/Cho variety as long as it had Big Bang length and a real plot (preferably one involving Red John learning of Jane's new relationship with Rigsby someone new).
