HP slash

Compare "Coils of Gold" to "The Prisoners", and tell me which story is, while unhappy, quite good, and which makes me utterly furious. It should be obvious.

Give me a non-con Krycek/Mulder XF story any day; it will most likely not stir up as many bad feelings as this overabundance in HP slash to make Harry the victim of the rapist-du-jour. Gah.

Because (see the discussion of this topic on [snapeslash] at the moment), even Mulder is never 'just' a victim. Even if he just lashes out with words; he usually escapes with his sanity intact, and/or with Krycek breaking down in remorseful tears (hehe).

Harry here is the utterly helpless victim, though, and that turns my stomach. And why this reliance upon magic? Give him a knife, or a gun, heck, anything. I'd rather have him fight back like a madman and create carnage in untold dimensions than just endure, brainwashed, with a happy smile on his face and the words "... but [insert name here] just loves me so much!" on his trembling lips.

My harsh stand in this thing may be due to the circular at work today that dealt, among other crimes, with the rape of a 15-year old girl by a friend of the family. Whose threats kept her silent for half a year until he got her alone once more, and made her go through the same ordeal again. Some people should be locked up for life.

And while Real Life does, unfortunately, include such crimes, my fantasy life should be kept free of this. I don't need to read something like this in my spare time. I can do depressed all without outside help, thank you very much.

Insufficient warnings really piss me off.
