I just want to know who the fuck wrote this shit. From everybody taking shifts at Duncan's bedside in the hospital in Season 2 we go to "Oops, you're back from rehab. Sorry we never came to see you, and by the way, we had no idea you'd be back at work today." Suuure. And what's up with Simon? A quick character realignment for the benefit of the plot because the storyline needed a cop with a hot temper? Oh please. The only one likely to flip off the handle is Duncan. Even Duncan's flashbacks to the beating were so in-your-face executed that the plotline could be seen in advance from a continent away. Also, assisting a woman giving birth? Totally new stuff. :::yawn:::
In short: All of this? Was shoddy writing. With this show, I've been used to better. If the next episodes continue in this vein, I might have to stop watching. If I needed substandard, crime-of-the-week, regurgitated, repetitious fare, I'd go watch Law and Order.
Shame on you, City Homicide.
