Did I get that right? Steve's father, Jack McGarrett, was willing to let the most important investigation of his life go cold, even keeping the truth about the death of his wife from his children so that they could grow up safe in an intact world untouched by evil in which their mother had simply become the victim of a tragic accident? So that they wouldn't feel guilty that the chose the living, breathing, vulnerable reality of them over a far too costly revenge in the name of someone who was already dead and buried?
Kudos, Jack McGarrett. I'm impressed.
John Winchester, you might want to take a leaf out of that father's book, titled "How to NOT screw up your children".
