Seriously, the last four episodes of "In Plain Sight" simply don't deserve the long entry I've just written and decided to delete.
The short version: Let's just say the show didn't go out with a bang, but with a whimper. Mary, like far too many main characters of the female persuasion starring in a crime show lately, lost all her defining characteristics and was transformed into a socially acceptable version of herself, with the series trying to sell it as an improvement and as increased maturity (well, I'm calling it "bad writing").
Also, the horror of episode 5x05 "Drag Me To Hell" was just--just... indescribable, and the weaknesses of the final three episodes made the whole anticipated "return of Mary's father" storyline a travesty.
Final Conclusion: Another show that should have been canceled at least a season ago. Good riddance, "In Plain Sight". I'm not going to miss you.
