I HATE MY FUCKING LIFE. I've just managed to (somehow) delete my "Documents" folder, and wanted to backup all my data in preparation of powering down the computer in the hopes of the folder restoring itself. Result: I've killed about 90 % of my backup as well as the files I damned fucking well wanted to backup.
IT help won't be here until tomorrow evening. I think I might just die until then.
Edit 03 Oct 2012, 08:15 p.m.:
I think I can now lower the alert level. *g*
The IT guy managed to restore most of my files, and what the recovery suite couldn't grab, I've downloaded again (thank you for the history, Mozilla Firefox!). Re-naming and re-sorting about a quarter of the restored files which ended up bearing gibberish headers wasn't fun, but the end is in sight.
Let's just say I've now been up for 38 hours straight, and my head is going 'splodey. Still, an improvement to Monday.
Why is it always one's own stupidity that angers one the most? If I just had re-checked the drive I was accessing before entering 'delete'...
So, shower, then bed. I'm so dead.
