I wonder whether we'll ever see a true, lasting peace in Israel. I will never be able to understand how a government can descend to the level of their enemy, terrorists, and -- without regard for innocent lives -- attack civilian houses. In today's attack the son of the Hamas leader died, as well as two non-targets. Is this acceptable collateral damage? How is the Israeli government better than the terrorists they fight against? Whether civilians lose their lives in a suicide bombing, or in an army attack -- in the end they are just as dead. I despise the international news coverage that employs euphemisms like "liquidation" for the targeting of the the Hamas leaders which, in truth, is simply cold-blooded murder ordered by the Israeli government. The Hamas leaders are not arrested and tried in front of an unbiased court -- no, they are killed. How easy. How morally questionable.
This vicious circle will only end if one side stops repaying murder with murder on an even larger scale. One side had better be reasonable, and it would be ironic (and unlikely) if that were the terrorists after all.
