God, I hope I'll really get back my computer next week! While I'm grateful that the internet café across the street from my apartment opened recently, it's not exactly cheap and it's difficult to concentrate on one's mail with a seven-year-old sitting next to you, playing some kind of online ego-shooter and practically twitching in his seat the whole time. Plus, my inbox so far has overflowed twice because it got buried under SPAM. I must admit I never complained much about SPAM mails, figuring that, with a DSL connection, I could always download them and delete them in a few seconds. Now, depended on irregular internet café visits, I'm starting to hate SPAM with a passion. I wish it'd be banned, but even if that happens in Germany (the news say an appropriate law might soon be enacted here), that'll have zero effect on my e-mails since almost all of them are in English and originate in the US.

Spamming is an impertinence that should be punished by forcing the respective senders to eat printouts of their entirely unneccessary shit. Grrr.

Oh, something else entirely: My mother and I drove to Munich yesterday to meet our -- what are they exactly? Her grand aunts? My... whatever? Anyway, we'd finally managed to agree on a weekend where my mother didn't have to work and I was at my parents'; we ate my Aunt Else's famous cream roll, played Canasta (I'm still horribly confused by their altered laws of the game) and drove back in a rainshower. I'm afraid I wasn't all that chipper since I still feel ill. I guess I'd better go to the doctor again tomorrow. This flu simply refuses to leave me alone.

Ooof. Weeding out your e-mail via a modem is so slow and time-consuming. I'm currently sitting at my father's computer, downloading and saving to disk what I can. But I need to get ready to leave, and I'm not even close. I want to be back home before midnight. <twitches in her seat>
