I wrote a panicky posting for the bulletin board at work and even found someone who said he'd help me create said remote data transmission connection -- tomorrow. Urgh.

So I called another support hotline, this time the one of AVM (manufacturer of my DSL card), and they guided me through the steps. It was almost ridiculously easy. I feel stupid.

All other programs are now installed; I can go online again, wheeee!

The only problem (and it wouldn't have been my computer if there hadn't arisen any problem) is BitTorrent. I tried downloading some stuff for [livejournal.com profile] xkatjafx and every time I'd started the download, after perhaps two or three minutes my internet connection crashed and couldn't be re-established until I rebooted.

Damn that pile of junk! I NEED BT. Grrrr again.

I think I'll read a little now to calm my nerves. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mareen, I've discovered a new fandom: "The Invisible Man". Bad thing is, I didn't want to see any slash in it -- Darien Fawkes is ok, but Bobby Hobbes? Urgh. Short, old, balding, psychotic. Unfortunately, I found the main I-Man archive at Invisible Madness [ The Invisible Man Archive ] and couldn't refrain from digging a little. Shouldn't have done that. I've got an inkling that I won't stop reading until I've read it all. Why, why, WHY? Hobbes is so ugly! Sometimes I scare myself.

But enough of that. I'll just go and take that antibiotic which, incidentially, messes with my stomach just like the enclosed instructions for use threatened to.
