"Serenity" and snow storms

Went to see "Serenity" yesterday and even managed to get back home in one piece - despite the first snow this year that made the highway pretty much impassable. Everyone drove under 60 km/h and tried not to brake too much since the snow ploughs hadn't been there, and the roads were slippery as hell. I already saw myself end up in a ditch somewhere, but for once I was lucky. I concentrated on driving until my eyes burned and cursed the fact that my snow tyres were still at my parents'.

I'm going to spend the weekend in Berlin - I've been invited to Eotara's birthday party on Saturday. I found a colleague willing to give me a lift virtually at the last minute, and now I can only hope that he'll drive carefully.

Oh, and as for "Serenity" - [livejournal.com profile] mareen, thank you for not confirming or denying the spoiler I'd heard. As you know, it turned out to be correct, damnit. Didn't expect that high a body count - Wash and Book?! Or River being so extremely lucid, or Jayne being so, so... not-dumb. And someone please explain to me why Mal was too stupid to shoot the Alliance's assassin in the head instead of in the chest which was, so not surprisingly, protected by body armor?! Still, the movie was kind of nice, and hey, "Firefly" on the big screen! We want more!
