Fox Mulder is as much a profiler as Elizabeth Weir was a diplomat.

Meaning: Not so much. On paper, both have the necessary career and skills, but in reality said skills were almost never put into practice.

And that's really rather sad. Fanfic only rarely, very rarely, avoids making the same omission.

Mulder frothing at the mouth whenever Krycek is concerned gets old so very quickly. :::yawn:::

Sad but true. The show writers tell and don't show. And more than fanfiction writers do the same. It's easier, I think.

But so--so superficial. How can one settle for writing something so superficial?! I don't even blame the fanfic authors that much; after all, they only work with the canon they've been given. But the original writers? Apparently their 'art' (and skill level) is as shallow as a parking lot puddle.
