Life or: So much love for Charlie Crews.

So much, SO MUCH love for Life. <333

I've mainlined Season 2 since Saturday, and while I'd have preferred another season (or several), or at least no loose ends left after the finale, still. So. Much. Love.

Charlie just-- he just works perfectly well with whoever he's partnered with - or even just interacts with. And no, I don't even mean that in a subtextual erotic way.

Lt. Davis was immune, but no one else is. Reese might pretend she's often just tolerating him, but she chooses him. No matter the time, no matter the decision. He's her partner.

Crews and Bobby Stark are just love. The two episodes they ride together again because Crews requested Bobby? Despite the gap of twelve years and everything that comes with it, they work together seamlessly. They each always know what the other's doing (although I don't buy the whole "Charlie didn't know Bobby's sister" storyline).

Detective Seever? I was prepared for her to be a plant à la girl!Krycek, but she was just a by-the-book detective with her own abilities and plans for the future, and the willingness to risk the latter for the sake of her temporary partner.

Captain Tidwell? Also, I was prepared to dislike him, but he and Crews are like a two-men-comedy routine/brothers separated at birth. They don't compete for Reese's attention, but somehow just complement each other in their love for her.

Even Crews and Agent Bodner just work. They had no reason to trust each other, but they did.

And last but not least, there's always Ted Earley (as [livejournal.com profile] sua_lay rightfully reminded me). Ted and Charlie's relationship has never been exactly defined on the show, but it includes cooking, buying orange groves, worrying about Rachel, translating financial information into layman's terms, and acting as Charlie's right-hand man in the locating of a missing Reese's cellphone. Ted is like an anchor for Charlie's too-high flights of fancy; he indulges those, but never loses sight of reality, and, oh, he refused to sell out Charlie's secrets to Jack Reese. :::loves:::

The last episode didn't resolve all, but a lot. And Charlie killing Roman? Wow, I definitely hadn't expected that.

The questions still bugging me in the end, though, are:
  • Who are the other three unidentified members of the group of which Jack Reese and Mickey Rayborn were members?
  • What happened to Rachel Seybolt?
  • Why did Constance Griffin pretend to have never heard the parts of Kyle Hollis' confession that related to Jack Reese?
  • Is Jack Reese actually dead, or did Roman lie when he claimed he killed him?
  • Will Charlie and his father one day mend their relationship?
  • How long will Jennifer try to have her cake and eat it, too?
And those are just the most important ones.

Anyway.

All in all? I adored this show.

"I adored this show."

Das kann ich nur unterschreiben. Klasse Serie.

Charlie & everybody.

Oh, yes, thanks! I planned to list Ted, too, but somehow I missed him.

Ted, Charlie's financial specialist on-call and the one charged with locating a missing Reese's cellphone? So much love.

:::pets Ted:::
