Family. Can't live without them, can't...

Had a huge row with my father yesterday (well, he made insulting comments about a friend of mine, and I stormed off; he has Gibbs-apologized today), and now the peaceful Christmas glow is kind of gone for me.

My netbook needs some expert help once I'm back home; I've had the Blue Screen Of Death twice now and suspect that sectors of its harddrive are damaged. Going through the data on it yesterday showed me that apparently, my personal computer's crash half a year ago took all my saved songvids with it ([livejournal.com profile] mamoru22, yours as well, although I intend to re-download them immediately once I'm back home - unfortunately, not all of the other vidders' vids are still available online). A couple of them, I'm really devastated to have lost (the old vids by Lithiumdoll - especially her Harsh Realm one -, among others). Stammtisch, if any of you want to give me a belated Christmas present, I'd be pathetically grateful if you could burn your favorite vids (whatever the fandom) on DVD for me and... oh, please. :::sob:::

Aside from all that, I've taken advantage of my stay at my parents' by taking Yuki to see her original vet (the one who looks after all the breeder's cats), and while I was grateful he didn't throw his hands up in the air and admit defeat (like the one I've gone to until now), the medications he's given her so far haven't made any noticeable difference. She still has a cold and either sneezes or breathes heavily because her nose is blocked.

My sister-in-law wants me to return the throw pillows I got for her (color me not surprised) and find her some others in the exact shade and fabric she has decided on. I'll have to see whether reality decides to conform to her expectations. Otherwise, I'll get her a gift voucher. So there. :::eyeroll:::

Why is it always that the big disillusionment sets in whenever I stay longer at my family's place than, say, a weekend?
