After trying to catch up on various shows over the last two months, I'm finally current on:
I'm not happy about JJ leaving, but against expectations the show hasn't jumped the shark. Reid still annoys me, but Morgan has been far less annoying than he used to be, and my shallow side still likes to watch Hotch, so there. I still don't get Rossi, though. What role does he actually fill? Couldn't they have cut him, instead? Joan's father wandering across the screen still makes me check whether I'm watching the right show, after all.
Hawaii Five-0:
I can safely blame his one on
calla. I don't even know why I keep watching. The human rights violations by McGarrett make me want to strangle him, and Alex O'Loughlin is still kind of an anathema for me ever since Moonlight. I seriously don't like that actor. The new haircut helps, through, the 20cm-height difference between him and Caan crack me up everytime they stand next to each other, and... alright, alright. The show is slashy as hell. I surrender.
The Glades:
Wow, one show I wasn't prepared to like once I'd started watching the pilot. Waffling whether or not to keep at it, I was glad I did once I'd made it through episode 1x02. Jim Longworth grows on you, and in the long run isn't half as arrogant as he was shown to be in the pilot. The procedural mistakes, though, make my teeth hurt. Plus, Ray Cargill? I'm still waiting on him pulling a Rita-from-Dexter's-ex-husband and turn psycho once he learns of Callie's infidelity. Also, can someone explain to me why there's exactly zero fanfic for that show beyond a handful of super-short, badly written fics on ff.net?!
In Plain Sight:
This season puts more emphasis on Mary's wacky witnesses than on her equally wacky home-life - a fact for which I'm endlessly grateful. Jinx has moved out, Mary's sister hasn't been embroiled in another drug scheme (although their half-brother's just trouble waiting to happen), Marshall continues being awesome (and Stan, too), plus Faber's the perfect match for Mary (although one might argue that apparently he's her male clone). Keep going, show! Entertain me!
The Closer:
Hand-count: Who's actually surprised neither Brenda nor Will Pope made Chief of Police? Oo-hoo. No one. Well, at least Delk seems to be on the same wavelength as Brenda, so that's something. Seeing more of Fritz in a professional capacity is also a good thing. Provenza and Flynn being up to their usual wacky hijinks? Totally hilarious. The flight attendants? Provenza and Flynn are like the ultimate chaos buddies, and they're so much fun to watch in action. Also, I've just discovered (because I am, as already mentioned, incredibly shallow and like to stare at Tony Denison) that by now, there's finally some fanfic to be found featuring the pairing of Brenda Leigh Johnson and Andy Flynn. Yay!
