I've discovered a worrying fascination with ficlets instead of concentrating on writing a longer story. Still, better creative in a short format than utterly inactive, I guess.

The following ficlet has accompanied me to quite a lot of places, traveling along in my spiral pad. While it didn't grow into a full story, I still like it. This time, J.A.G. and, of course, Rabb/Webb. Enjoy.

The Face in the Mirror
Author: allaire mikháil
Fandom: J.A.G.
Pairing: Harmon Rabb / Clayton Webb
Rating: PG-13
Summary: This is but a short snippet set directly after story #3 in [livejournal.com profile] mareen's wonderful "Equinox" series; it depicts Harmon Rabb's reaction to the events of a certain rainy afternoon.

Too much "Battlestar Galactica" slash will do the following to you:

Truth at last

...and too much time at work when you're even willing to read Bild to stave off boredom (now if that isn't a die-hard sign of desperation, I don't know what else could be!), you snap your knuckles and write in the most unusual fandoms:

Duty is a harsh Mistress
Author: allaire mikháil
Fandom: Gerry Anderson's "U.F.O."
Pairing: Ed Straker / Alec Freeman
Rating: PG
Summary: To deny yourself may work for a while, but it definitely won't make you happy.

1.174 words, 3rd person POV.

U.F.O., Straker/Freeman. Finally. I read that TPTB took on George Sewell as an actor because they wanted someone older, less handsome, more 'down-to-Earth' for the average viewer. I seriously don't know how they ever got the idea that he'd fullfill that criteria. I like the man, his looks, his easy rapport to Straker. Why, oh why, does no-one else write slash for that pairing? They are clearly very good friends, trust each other and have been working for S.H.A.D.O. for years; in fact, I believe they founded it together.
Why does instead everyone ooh! and aah! over Paul Foster instead whose relationship with Straker is more superior-subordinate and who's portrayed as the consumate Ladies Man? I don't get it. I seriously don't. I think Foster's just -- superfluous. Girls falling over themselves trying to get that guy's attention always felt like aliens to me, and the shot we saw of his naked, hairy chest certainly didn't make things better. Eeew.
