Yay, I have another cell-phone as of today! Finally, finally, I can be reached again plus call someone when I'm stuck in a traffic jam on the way to my parents! After two failed attempts (first didn't work, second didn't accept my telephone card), I'm ba-a-a-ack now! <grins broadly>

I've even survived work this week so far, although I still have problems getting out of bed in the morning. Guess the vacation wasn't as helpful as I thought. And I'll have to participate in a lecture on crimes linked to stock exchange tomorrow. I sort of -- got volunteered for it. <g> Hope I won't fall asleep during it...

Oh, by the way, I'd have almost ended up as a translator for the next weeks. The department here responsible for translating texts from/into English is seriously overworked (not enough personnel since the whole bureau is undergoing restructuring to reinforcing the counter-terrorism unit). Unfortunately, my boss said 'no' on my behalf while I was still on vacation; he wants me to get used to the regular work here. Argh. I'd have preferred the translation thing; would have been fun!

*sigh*

I didn't fall asleep during the lecture, but it was pretty darn close. And I got the impression the speaker just wanted to rant and rave about the things he considered the cause for the German economy's downfall which evidently was, indirectly, the stock exchange. His reasoning sounded quite believable, though. Anyway, I don't know anything about the stock market, so much of it went over my head. Well.

I still haven't gotten rid of my former apartment in S. If I don't find a successor soon, I'll have to throw away the carpets, the kitchen and repaper all the rooms. Until the end of the month. Great. Why the heck doesn't anyone want it?! I don't get that! It's beautiful and relatively cheap, with enough parking spaces in front, plus close to the train station. Doesn't anyone want to live in S., or what?
