The first chapters of Tira Nog's "Resilience" simply blew me away. I'm not as happy with the later ones - which isn't all that surprising considering they deal with the fallout from "Trinity".

I don't like relationships where the power is so clearly on one side. And I consider the cold shoulder treatment from Sheppard in this story excessive and at least partly undeserved. Sheppard didn't give McKay the order to abort the experiment on Doranda until the very end. Part of the responsibility is his, and he should own up to it.

Perhaps I'm just discontent that the author didn't spend as much time on the post-breakup than the pre-breakup - a bit more comfort after all the hurt would have been nice. Furthermore, I wonder how the events of "Conversion" and "Aurora" would fit into the timeline of/emotional development in this story. McKay and Sheppard had almost no screen-time together in "Conversion", and the whole "trust" quip around the stasis pods contradicts an earlier resolution/forgiveness/reunion.

I'm depressing myself again. I'd better stop now.
