Thank you, Sonja. I wish you hadn't called. It's so terrific to know that two more of my colleagues of our training period in M. have now been promoted. One of them got better notes in the final tests, so I can understand that. The second one finished worse than me, though. Still, she works in the same subject area as the head official and it's a well-known fact that the people working there will always get preferential treatment so the boss'll look good.
I don't even truly resent her getting the promotion; I know she has worked hard. What I do resent, though, is the fact that, while I didn't get but praise from all directions, said praise wasn't mirrored in my evaluation. They all told me how much they appreciate my work, how capable I am, and whatfuckever. Hell, I even got a short-term pay raise three years ago for outstanding work. Less praise and more substance reward-wise would have been way preferrable.
They can keep all their cheap words to themselves; it doesn't explain the average assessment I got. What did I do wrong? Why didn't I get a good evaluation? Justify that!
I can't help but feel betrayed.
A promotion would have also meant a pay raise. Since my CD-player is dead as of today, I could have well used that. My TV has hick-ups, I could use a new DVD player, and I need money for next year's trip to the US. This sucks.
