Car trouble... again.

When I was still content to snuggle in bed, drowsy and loathing to get up in one more hour or so, I overheard my mother telling my little brother that someone had 'decorated' my car's left side with a purple line in spray paint. I refused to get mad and slept a bit more, but the sight, later on, did nothing to improve my mood. Purple. How decorative.

If I'd gotten my hands on the sprayer, I think I'd have kicked him in the head <does Ray-Kowalski-impression plus scowling> I rubbed my finger over the line and didn't even get a bit on my skin -- all dried and evidently paint. Great. Decided not to pay the garage to remove it, and promised myself dire retribution for the culprit, if ever caught by the police.

Was all set for paying a visit to the police station to file a complaint against unknown, when my father (God bless his heart!) decided to try solvent first. Amazingly, all the pretty color <snerk> could be removed! Even the dirt. ;-)

I felt a stone roll off my heart, thought fondly of my older brother who'd changed the damaged front tyres for me yesterday, and started back on the road to Cologne.

Birthday guests:
Old friend plus toddler son, two former colleagues and friends, brother plus his new wife, little brother, and [livejournal.com profile] mareen <waves and grins to Mareen>

Birthday presents:
Tons of chocolate.
Books and CDs, including a book with the encouraging title "Love won out" ("A Man and a Woman's Road out of Homosexuality") from my brother. Gives me the shivers... what the heck is supposed to be wrong about being gay?! Christians are far too intolerant, and that hurts. I love him dearly, but I guess we'll never see eye to eye on certain points. Don't even want to imagine how he'd react should I ever in my life stray from the straight and narrow... <sigh>

Oh, and my little brother ran into trouble 'cause he carried a telescop-nightstick to the spring funfair in N. Guess my parents need a break soon. <g>

The German mail service still hates me. Posted a package to I. last Thursday, and to make sure I'd put the right stamps on it, I even went to the damn post office. They weighted it (502 gram), stuck on the correct amount in stamps, and... didn't send it on its way. Evidently the woman at the post office had decided to be 'nice' and only demanded the price for packages up to 500 gram. Someone must have weighted it later on and been of the pea-counting persuation.
Great. <foams from the mouth>

All in all, next week can only be better.

I HOPE.
