But I wonder that that pairing created so much slash -- they have hardly any scenes together.

Because there's chemistry? And lots of conflict? And they both are the most interesting characters of the show.
Sure I wish for more scenes, but right now I doubt we'll see much of them anymore... (There's still on episode which is really slashy, 1.11?. And then they'll never speak again *grrr*)

btw, don't you want to answer your feedback for the Napola story? *g*
