Have I recently mentioned...

...That the days are never long enough? Well, it's true.

I'm working on another update (or, in this case, rather cosmetic surgery <g>) of my homepage, and that's taking up far more time than I anticipated. God, I simply can't stand any more html-editing!!! <groans>

And I've fallen hard for another fandom, and above all, that's "Magnificent Seven". Where I haven't seen more than the pilot and, after watching that, had decided that this series wasn't worth an hour of my Saturday mornings. Well, again, I'd have better kept silent instead of uttering a convinced "Never!" because right now, I've. Got. It. Bad.

It can all be traced back to "Houston Knights". Really.
An author there got me hooked by her series, "Partners, Friends and Lovers" <waves at Katherine>, and with the last update of Starwinder's page, there was also a mention of Katherine's new series, an Ezra/Vin novel in the Mag7 fandom. And boy -- it started out good. To make a long story short, I wasn't totally satisfied with the emotional dynamics in the Ezra/Vin pairing and started looking for my own OTP. And found it. In Chris/Ezra. Heh.

Clichéd -- perhaps.
Tall, mysterious, taciturn gunslinger who lost his family to murder and is always dressed in black
= Chris Larabee.
Apparently unreliable, always wearing a genial mask, but emotionally vulnerable gambler
= Ezra P. Standish.
Opposites attract, right? <g>
But who cares for clichés when the chemistry is perfect? No one. Exactly. And if you're lucky enough to find stories like Lumina~'s "Yearning", "Watershed" and "Offering" (which can all be found at her page), you'll be converted in the blink of an eye, too.

But--but... there's not very much more out there in the supposedly endless realms of the 'net. No long, dramatic novels. Nothing to keep you occupied for weeks. Damn. Picked another underdog pairing. <eg> Didn't even know until last weekend that Chris is played by Michael Biehn, he of 'Terminator'...

Oh well, seems like I'm babbling again.
Spent the last two days on a computer course, this time for a program that's supposed to simplify customs declarations for industry and commerce. So far, only the import sector part of it is working, and that after more than four years of development, and billions of German Marks. Frustrating. I'm still of the opinion (and I'm not the only one) that it'll be long out of date once it does, in fact, work properly. And options that'd be important for our office, like various search parameters, allegedly can't be programmed. Great.
Yeah, let's reduce customs' manpower and increase computerized data transmissions, jippee! Because, of course, arms, drugs and cigarettes will be openly listed in those declarations, and actual inspections of the goods will be redundant. Great. The 21st century's coming!

On the upside, though, there's the looong Easter Weekend. I'll go see some friends, get a visit from [livejournal.com profile] mabiana and will attend "Jesus Christ Superstar" with her on Monday. Heh. :-)

I have some episodes on tape, alas stupid me was too lazy to write their titles on the cassettes, so I can't say which ones... but if you don't mind being surprised by the content of the tapes I can bring them ;-) I also have an original tape of the pilot in English and could bring that too, if you are interested...

[Bad username or site: mabiana), that would simply be <i @ livejournal.com]great!!! Yes, please do! Where did we stop with 'Oz'? I can take the rest of my PAL tapes with me for the weekend... :-)

Although I'll soon get the whole series on tape, in NTSC. Heh again. <smile>

Please do :-) We stopped in the middle of the first episode of season 3.

BTW, I wonder if the programmer who developped the program you wrote about might be the same who made the one I'm punished with ;-)

Yes! Yes, hah. She's seen the light .

And even better yet, Ezra and Chris. Aren't they lovely? Although I like Ezra and Vin together as well.

There are some long E/C-stories around. And in between the hundred of other ideas I'm working on something novel-like which will defintely be E/C . Just takes time, patience and someone willing to take a look or two and help out.
And an AU-idea that right now is gen, will be E/V and might turn into E/C/V.

Lumina is publishing Seducer #2 soon and I'm sure she'll have E/C in that one as well. My story strangely enough is Ezra/Josiah. I never tought I would write that pairing.

Btw, I have all the eps as NTSC on tape. Want to come and visit me? Mabiana as well maybe?

Hi Gwen,

wow, I'm definitely intrigued -- hearing that you're working on a E/C novel?! I'd love to read that, once it's on its way to completition... :-)

As for a visit, and Mag7 on tape... sure, I'd like that very much, too! Will you also participate in the upcoming [Querstrich]-Treffen? Anyway, just tell me when you'll have time and a free weekend. I'll ask [livejournal.com profile] mabianaMabiana today whether she'd like to come, too. I think it's a great idea. :-)))

Yes, novel planned. Was originally planned to be a story for Seducer #2 but the boys had other ideas. Instead of starting with them as an already esteablished pair, they want first-time-angst in addition to the problems of Ezra's past .

As for the meeting. Hm, this month isn't so good. I'm off to my grandmother next week, might meet mabiana then. Have to decide after that. How long will you be in Cologne? Any news yet?

I might make it to the Querstrich-Treffen. Will see how things develop. Can't really plan at the moment.

Hey, I love first-time stories. Always have, always will. ;-)

And as for our meeting and Cologne -- I finally managed to get a short appointment with the head of the office today (like: five minutes, and he was even late), but he didn't tell me anything new. Evidently everything still remains undecided. Great.

In about one month, my lease of this apartment here will run out. And then?

But let's not talk about that anymore, or I'll scream in frustration.
You'll most likely make it to the [Querstrich]-Treffen?! That's great news!
And as you've surely already heard from [livejournal.com profile] mabiana, we're both more than willing to watch a certain series on videotape... ;-) Just tell us as soon as you're considering a definite date!
