[livejournal.com profile] mabiana has now definitely infected me with the Mag7 virus (I even got up at the ungodly hour of nine a.m. for it today!) as she brought several tapes with her last weekend. Can't wait for the tapes J. is copying for me in the US right now... ;-)
Chris. Ezra. The shadow of a certain plot bunny.

Oh, and I almost had a car accident yesterday evening when driving home to see my parents. On the highway, I didn't pay as much attention as I should, the driver directly in front of me braked suddenly, and so did I. In the following seconds, I didn't exactly see my life flashing by, but I truly expected to find myself stuck in his trunk in a couple of heartbeats. I stepped on the brake like a lunatic and really managed to stop the car before we made contact... but I also winced at the white cloud my car left behind during that maneuver. Afterwards, driving felt funny -- the car hopped a little bit. I checked everything, but didn't find a reason, so I made the mistake of mentioning it to my father today. Result: Evidently I'd scraped off quite a bit of profile off my left front tyre, hence the 'hopping'. At least, I consider it 'a bit', my father considers it 'all' of said profile.

And now my parents are on the road to my former hometown to get my summer tyres I've still stored there, because my father's too worried to let me drive with my poor abused winter tyres. Argh. Now I'm feeling guilty. Three hours on the road, all because of that. While I'm at home, updating this journal and soon starting to prepare dinner for my birthday party tonight.

Argh again. Didn't want to spoil their weekend.

Ah, but they're thinking of how their weekends will be ruined if that tyre blows, and your car flips or careens into oncoming traffic.

My father's reasoning exactly. ;-)
And they were pretty fast. And still in good spirits when they came back, so I guess it wasn't that bad...
My brother even changed the tyres for me.
Plus the party was nice. Almost everyone gave me chocolate, though -- but not Milka. ;-)
Hmm. But all in all, I guess I like weekends. <g>
