Now that I'm more or less rid of the flu that'd been plaguing me since February, I finally dragged myself into the nearest fitness studio. I need to get back in shape to survive the training seminar in August/September.
Don't get it wrong -- I hate it. But I know it's necessary. So I've started to go to work 1 1/2 hours earlier in order to be able to leave earlier... in order to go to the studio before it's entirely dark outside. Ooof.
I. HATE. IT.
Apart from that,
divab has infected me with the "West Wing" virus, and I even have started reading [*shudder*] Jed/Leo slash. If Leo were ten, fifteen years younger and Jed 20 kilos lighter... anyway, I don't want to imagine them having sex. Ever. Yet I still read the slash. I am sick, sick, sick.
Still (judging by Season 1) the show is actually as good as I'd hoped when I started collecting the episodes. Hmmmm. Aaron Sorkin rocks!
Oh, and before I forget -- if anyone has a great idea what to give to my mother on Mother's Day, please, PLEASE, tell me! I'm totally without ideas.
As for the current political situation, I'll just direct everyone to the Plaid Adder's lj. Let's just say that I am deeply ashamed of the US at the moment, and whatever illusions I still harboured about them are now gone for good. Rumsfeld will never step down from his post, Bush will never say he's sorry and mean it. The people responsible for the tortures and killings will never face true justice -- being demoted?! Being thrown out of the Army?! What a joke. That's supposed to be enough in exchange for what they did?! For a human life?
Let's not forget about the bombing of Fallujah and the women and children who died there, unnoticed by the world due to the convenient barely-there media coverage.
The Iraqi people have my condolences.
I wish President Bartlet were real. Bush? Too bad the plane crashing into the Pentagon in 2001 hadn't gone for the White House instead.

yeah, that's me...even though, Jed/Leo???? *shudder* Nah, I like Abby much too much for that, and honestly, I just don't really see the vibe. For me, they are just good friends, but all the power to you. It's not like everyone shares my love for the Sam'n'Josh :)
And hell yes, politically, I'd take Bartlet any day. Even though, Seaborn for America has an even better ring to it. *g*
And concerning the sorry state of the US and of human rights altogether in times like these. My first thought was: Guantanamo Bay anyone. How can the same President be so sorry about the way the soldiers are treating Iraqis, and condone the way terrorists are being treated under his comand.
Boggles the mind....
...still waiting for my West Wing DVDs though, and coming up to the end of second season. Need third! Urgently :)
:(
But mad, Jed and Leo! Jed! Leo! They are one of my all time favourite characters (and pairing...) ever! [holds up a little J&L flag and waves it frantically]
I KNOW. *sob*

I want some Josh/Jed. I know, I'm strange. I even have an idea, but not enough stamina to see it through.
I still want to be stranded on a desert island with my laptop and an inexhaustible power source. So I'm forced to write. Gah.
