The weekend was all Querstrich meet, "Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith", and, predictably, "Stargate: Atlantis" (what else?). And of course talking about our plan for world domination. Really.

The meet consisted of more or less the usual suspects at [livejournal.com profile] mamoru22's place, plus a few newcomers, in short there were [livejournal.com profile] mamoru22, [livejournal.com profile] xkatjafx, [livejournal.com profile] mareen, [livejournal.com profile] lovis, [livejournal.com profile] trobadora, [livejournal.com profile] kriski, [livejournal.com profile] esda, [livejournal.com profile] jassanja, [livejournal.com profile] ten_chan, [livejournal.com profile] i_am_schizo, [livejournal.com profile] ridicully and, well, me *g*. Unfortunately, [livejournal.com profile] _bettina_ and [livejournal.com profile] temve couldn't come, and I missed [livejournal.com profile] gwendolen, [livejournal.com profile] moonilicious and [livejournal.com profile] mabiana.

Since I'm too lazy and tired right now to type up what happened in detail, I'll simply cop out by linking to the others' lj entries here, here and here.

I changed it immediately!!!1!ONE!!1

;-P

I remember starting to read the first one, and stopping because I couldn't stand the amount of Duncan bashing. This time, I've read it through, and while it certainly has something, I won't keep it on my hard drive. It's a tad bit too much OOC banter and weirdness.

The second one I read in its entirety some time ago (and saved it) -- it's weird, too, and Duncan is... well, let's just say he's far too accepting of a situation that would have had him up in arms and torn him apart much worse in the series.

By the way, I have 15,9 MB of HL fanfic on my hard drive, most of it from 1998. Should I transfer it to my USB stick and take it with me to our next meet in N.? You interested?

Gah! replied before I saw you deleted and reposted, so here we go again:

Neither of them is perfect, that's for sure. MarySue!Methos annoyed me more than the Duncan-bashing in the first one, which won't come as a surprise to you. It's not a keeper for me either, but I liked it well enough considering the fact that I never really came across much HL fic I liked enough to even finish reading.

The second one I really like - it's a very fascinating twist on the idea of a quickening taking someone over. It's creepy, but in a good way, and I just couldn't look away, even the third and fourth time I read it. You're right about Duncan of course, but then again it would have taken a much longer fic to work through all that.

I'd love it if you brought the fic with you! For some unknown reason (I really don't remember why) I deleted most of the HL fic I had at some point and would love to read some again. Thanks!
