In regard to the new season opener of SG-1: Have I already mentioned that I hate bearded hamsters even more?!
edit: So now they're mangling the legend of King Arthur, too. Ouch.
edit 2: So Vala's not dead. Drat.
:::headdesk:::
Whereas Elizabeth Weir has won back a whole lot of points in my opinion in Stargate: Atlantis' new episode, "The Intruder". Apart from the Sheppard/Weir vibe I'm doing my damnest to ignore, she's good at playing hardball. She so wiped the floor with the U.S. military, including Landry and Caldwell. Whoooo!
Furthermore, more Sheppard/Rodney scenes! Sheppard staring at the Asgard! The hair! The scrunched up nose! Asgard cursing! Rodney whispering to Sheppard! Rodney's sarcastic tone! The blue shirt!
The scenes on the X302 were nice, too, but I'm really starting to get pissed off about the comic relief thing the writers have going for Rodney. Yes, he whines, yes, he talks incessantly, but there's a limit - he's also brave, brilliant and competent. And I hate McKay bashing (the how and why are detailed here way better than I could express).
Too bad Elizabeth and Not!Nareem-who-looks-like-Nareem are no longer together. Makes me fear for the whole Sheppard/Weir dynamic.
Anyway, back to Sheppard and Rodney. Eeeep. Excuse me while I squee a bit more in private.
TV Highlights says that Dean Marshall aka Sgt. Bates works four days a week as a bartender in Vancouver.

I don't remember exactly in whose lj I found a picture of spiffy Gen. O'Neill in his dress uniform, clean-shaven and dashingly handsome, with the author pointing to Daniel and prodding him to shave so as to look as pretty as Jack. *g*
And Vala simply gets on my nerves. I cannot imagine any military institution letting a person as untrustworthy as her walk all over them, as Daniel, Landry et al did. Claudia Black seems to enjoy the role; she also seems to be a good actress, but that whole look-I'm-clad-all-in-leather-and-hot-as-hell look in addition to the greed and the flirting and the chatter and the air of superiority just rubs me the wrong way.
Yes, and lately I seem to have lost all remaining traces of humor, too. Me bad.
:::goes looking for said humor:::
... and I have a feeling they would have been more than happy to shove her back through the gate had she not slapped that prisoner braclet on Daniel's wrist. ;P
And they shouldn't even have given her the opportunity to slap said bracelet on Daniel's wrist... whatever. I now need to finally watch episodes 9x02 of SG-1 and 2x03 of Atlantis, so excuse me - gotta run! :-)
