I'll think I'll simply settle for hysterical laughter instead of outrage. If this happened in Germany, I'd be moving somewhere else.

If this happened in Germany the politicians in charge would be moving elsewhere...

Well, I'd like to think so, too, but recent developments in the political arena worldwide have left me with a sliver of doubt... :-(

What I really wonder about is that this was the first place I even heard about the thing. Doesn't it deserve more media coverage, or have I simply been out of the loop and missed the headlines?

I read about it lots of times now, just not on german news sites, only on websites frequented mostly by Democrats. This has been going on for a while now but got ignored, just like the whole "intelligent design" thing has also been mostly ignored by our media. I wonder if anyone here will even mention that last week Bush in an interview said that "intelligent design" should be teached in schools.

I don't think we'll ever have a problem with pharmacists here. What does frighten me a bit are people like our probable future Minister of the Interior, Günther Beckstein, who in an interview last week said that maybe we have to put "possible terrorists" into prison before they are able to do anything.
Meaning: Built our own Guantanamo.
